The Saracen Head pub is located in the centre of Glasgow. The original Saracen Head was built in 1755. There is a lot of history to the pub and was owned and run by the same family for over 100 years. at this present day , the pub is situated just across the road from the original site. The current licensee has put together a portfolio of the history of the pub for all visitors to see , and was able to give us a lot of information on the previous owners, as well as recent unexplained activity. The pub is also home to the skull of the last witch to be executed in Scotland which resides in a glass case in the bar area

Stewart began using dowsing rods and picked up on a woman who had passed away in the bar near the fire, he also picked up on the energy of a man who also had passed away on the premises close to the bar itself.

Stewart again using the dowsing rods picked up on the woman and man again.

David, Stewart and Carol ventured down into the cellar, Stewart began asking out for a response on a voice recorder, some voices were picked up but at this point could not be distinguished

In the cellar Carol felt it was very active in both the residual and physical energy, seeing coal coming down the chute from the main street. She also sensed beds in a clinical connection in this area almost like a hospital. She sensed a man in a white shirt wounded resembling a soldier she also felt it was used as an air raid shelter. She could see three beds and families hiding under them as if they were scared, they seemed very quiet

In the main bar, she sensed a man sitting in the corner to the left of the door, this man is in the physical and he is watching us. Layers of residual energy around the bar are picked up at this time, Carol picked up on a woman sitting beside the fire watching us in disapproval, this woman feels very bitter and is roughly about 60ish, no conversation as yet, Carol says the woman gives the feeling that she has suffered and this was where she always sat when she frequented the pub, Carol also picked up on the month January and the initial ‘M’ and felt that the woman passed sitting in that spot by the fire in the 1920’s. Carol feels that this has always been open to the public and started to get a sore head.

After setting equipment in the cellar and the main bar area we held a communication circle. We sat in a circle holding hands. In the first seating area facing the bar. Stewart set up a voice recorder and started calling out to spirit, the recorder picked up three different names as well as the whole group hearing tapping noises from the far end of the bar. Carol said that there were two male and a female spirit in the bar, sensing that one of the male spirits was standing in the corner of the bar beside the door.

We decided to hold a seance using a communication board on the table Dave and Carol, with frank and June from the pub.

Carol asked for a response, the planchett started to move very slowly, David asked if the spirit was female, it answered yes, he then asked if this spirit had owned the bar, there was no response to the question. Asked if it frequented the bar, the planchett moved to yes, we also got the name Fanny Gordon for this spirit David asked what age she was and we got the answer 57, she said she lived locally and that she frequented the bar and that she used to sit beside the fire, when asked what year it was we got the 1836 and that she had died of natural causes. We also found out from the board that she had four children ranging in age from 3 to 8. one of which was a boy named Fran(a popular name which is short for Francis)

David then asked how many spirits were influencing the board and he got the answer three, the letters H,D,N were spelt out after asking for a name and D,E,F,F was the response when prompted for a surname, David then asked for a year and got the answer 36, when prompted for the rest of the year we got the reply 1787 asked if this was complete the board answered C, F.

Carrying on with the seance, we asked if we were talking to a male spirit and got the answer yes. The board continued to answer in a manner that didn’t make a lot of sense when asked for the names of the male spirit’s that were influencing the board.

David got a personal message through the board and after this we decided to have a short break.

Cellar

We held a seance in the cellar, though we started by telling jokes in an attempt to conjure spirit with laughter and friendly banter. Carol could sense the spirit of military person from World War II, who had suffered a head injured. We all heard footsteps moving round the circle and we felt a cold breeze on our hands, even though there was no wind outside.

We decided to call it a night and we felt it had been a good investigation. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff of the Saracen Head for making us feel very welcome.
